ABOUT PROJECT VICTORY
Project Victory, is Tommy Joe Moore's flagship course to help people understand and explore the unarmed combat of WW2 alongside some of the the Fairbairn and Sykes knife and stick methodologies.
Our Instructor, based in Devon, has been trained by Tommy and is one of the first ever qualified to teach under the Project Victory banner.
Tommy wants to keep these skills alive by making training fun.
WW2 Combatives are characterised by being:
- Easy to learn and retain
- Devastating to employ
- Fast, deadly and decisive
For example, William Fairbairn taught his system of Gutter fighting, using his experience as a Riot Squad officer in vice-ridden Shanghai. It’s here he honed his craft blending:
- Ju Jitsu
- Judo
- Kung Fu
- Western Martial Arts (Bayonet, Wrestling, Savate etc)
- Police tactics (arrest, control, restraint and riot)
His team pioneered methods of crowd control, ballistics, combat shooting, kill houses, scenario training and a great many things besides.
It’s of no surprise that in WW2 William Fairbairn was called upon to help spread these skills amongst allied forces.
These skills were taught to men, women, people of all corners of the world, at all ages and abilities. From spies of the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) and the American Office of Strategic Services (OSS) to crack teams of commandos. With only a few hours to learn, this material had to get the job done right, and the job done fast.
